Flat residential tariffs, including GST. NSW, SE QLD and SA use AER DMO tariff caps. Victoria uses the VDO. WA uses Synergy A1. Tasmania uses Aurora tariff 31, which is closed to new connections. ACT uses ActewAGL Home under the ICRC price framework. Controlled load, time-of-use tariffs, discounts and rebates are excluded.

Tips to reduce your bill

Check your tariff. If your plan has cheaper periods, consider moving flexible appliance use to those times.

Check for draughts. Seal gaps around doors and windows where appropriate.

Review heating and cooling. Choose a comfortable setting and turn systems off when they are not needed.

Review your plan. Compare available offers using your own usage and check fees and eligibility.

Review lighting. Compare the energy use of replacement globes.

Assess solar quotes. Compare installation costs, your daytime usage and the tariffs available to you.
